Retailer standards

Last updated

Before we compare a retailer's prices, a person on our team reviews it against these criteria and records the evidence:

  1. Business identity: a real company name, address and contact details.
  2. Authorized-seller evidence: proof that it's an authorized seller for the brands it lists, or a clear statement that it sells grey-market stock.
  3. Return policy: published and reachable before checkout.
  4. Shipping policy: costs and delivery times for the US.
  5. Price transparency: the price shown matches checkout, with no hidden mandatory fees.
  6. Secure checkout: HTTPS and recognized payment processors.
  7. Customer reputation: independent reviews and complaint history.
  8. Condition labelling: testers, unboxed and damaged-box stock are clearly labelled.
  9. Data rights: we're permitted to use the retailer's price data.

We review each retailer again at least once a year, and sooner if we get complaints. We can remove a retailer at any time. Each retailer page shows the date of its last review.

Paying us a commission is not one of the criteria, and it doesn't change how offers are ranked.
